SARAH LOUISE ALLEN and James Owen McAvan - are happy to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage - Sarah is the daughter of Ron and Linda Allen of Sutton Coldfield. She is a graduate of Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls, the University of Wales Aberystwyth, Cardiff University, the University of Birmingham and Nottingham Law School. After a stint with the Foreign Office, Sarah was called to the Bar in 2005 and practices law out of No 5 Chambers, Birmingham. James is the son of Keith and Avril McAvan of Boldmere. He is a graduate of Handsworth Grammar School, the University of Sheffield, the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the University of Birmingham and the College of Law. Following service overseas as a commissioned officer in the Royal Welch Fusiliers, James now works for the law firm, DLA Piper. The wedding will be held at Edgbaston Old Church then at Highbury Hall on 31 December 2012. Following a honeymoon in Barbados the couple will reside in Edgbaston.
